Antony: Ajax winger and Manchester United target refuse to take part in behind-closed-doors training session – Reuters Sports News

Manchester United’s top attacking target Antony refused to take part in a behind-closed-doors training session at Ajax today.

According to reliable Jonathan Shrager, the Brazilian played no part in the game as the Dutch champions are now ready to allow him to leave for an eye-watering €100m.

“There was a training session behind closed doors at Ajax today, and Antony refused to take part in it.”

“The club are ready to sell the player to Manchester United for 100 million euros.”

The player who has been widely linked with a move to Old Trafford all summer is apparently on strike to force a move to England to reunite with his former manager, Erik ten Hag.

This follows a report from David Ornstein of The Athletic which said Ajax had rejected an €80m offer from the Red Devils for the 22-year-old.

The player himself spoke to Dutch newspaper Telegraaf, where he firmly refused to guarantee he would be an Ajax player when the transfer window ends.

“No. To be honest, I can’t [That he will be an Ajax player on the 1st of September]. I can say that I want to make the right decision with my family, my agents and Ajax. God decides my future in the end.

When asked if he would be disappointed if a move didn’t materialize, “No, no, no! I am very happy at Ajax. I have a contract until 2025 and I will give everything for this beautiful club every second. I wear this shirt with pride.

A photo has now emerged of the player and his agent tasting wine on the day he was due to attend his team’s training session.

In the explosive photo released by Antony’s agent, he is seen in a group toasting, with glasses of wine raised.

This could well be the end of Antony’s time at Ajax and could mean a probably sensational move to the Theater of Dreams.

Ajax will face Sparta Rotterdam tomorrow and it’s unclear whether they will be there.
