These artistic interpretations of historical portraits into modern photographs are just too convincing.
As so many composers, artists and other great historical figures existed before the invention of photography, the only way to get a vague idea of what they looked like is to rely on the artistic depictions of them in paint and marble by their creative colleagues. .
But what if we had been able to photograph the greatest in history? Yes, their portraits are iconic and instantly recognizable, but wouldn’t it be great to imagine what they might have looked like if they were here today?
Well, luckily for us, we don’t have to imagine. Brazilian artist Hidreley Diao (@hidreley) has used artificial intelligence (AI) to breathe photographic life into portraits and sculptures of Mozart, Beethoven, Shakespeare and many others, posting the mesmerizing results to its Instagram page.
